Automakers are adding manual transmission pickups, pickup trucks, SUV’s and vans to their lineup this year, a new report claims.
In an effort to get the most out of the new manual transmission truck, GM is rolling out a new manual model in 2019, according to Automotive News.
The automaker is launching the manual option in all its models with the 2018 Chevrolet Cruze, the 2018 Sierra Nevada, the 2019 Cadillac ATS and the 2019 GMC Sierra.GM says the 2018 manual option will include automatic transmissions, but GM says it has “no final plans for the next generation manual transmission in 2019.”
The automakers has been making big investments in the manual transmission with its purchase of Cummins and Kia in the past decade.
It is expected that GM will be rolling out more of its manual vehicles in 2019.
